This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, troubleshooting, mechanical repairs, and expanding their technical skills in a hands-on environment.

Pay and schedule: $19.00–$23.00 p/h, depending on experience and capabilities. Candidates with broader technical skills may be considered above the posted range. Performance-bonus eligibility is also available. Approximately 25–40 hours per week, depending on skills, availability, and the range of responsibilities you can take on.

What you’ll do:

  • Perform hands-on mechanical repairs involving piping, fittings, valves, traps, belts, bearings, motors, pumps, and other mechanical components

  • Learn and understand how boilers, piping, condensate, water, and production equipment work together to diagnose and repair equipment issues

  • Perform preventive maintenance and identify problems before they become emergencies

  • Investigate recurring equipment issues and ensure repairs are properly completed

  • Help identify leaks, equipment problems, and operating issues that may increase electricity, natural gas, or water usage

  • Maintain and repair facilities at all Clothesline Cleaners locations, including plumbing, lighting, doors, flooring, ventilation, pressure washing, rooftop work, and general repairs

  • Perform maintenance on company delivery vans, including oil changes, brakes, tires, filters, batteries, and other vehicle maintenance you are qualified to handle

  • Work with outside specialists and automotive repair shops when specialized repairs are needed

  • Keep parts, tools, and operating supplies organized and readily available

  • Monitor inventory levels, help coordinate orders and pickups, and put deliveries away

  • Assist with general organization, cleanup, breakdown, and other hands-on tasks as needed

What you’ll need:

  • Experience in equipment maintenance, mechanical repair, plumbing, HVAC, automotive repair, building maintenance, construction, another skilled trade, or a combination of hands-on experience

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment

  • Comfortable using tools and performing mechanical repairs independently

  • Ability to replace and repair piping, valves, components, and other mechanical systems

  • Ability to follow manuals, diagrams, and technical instructions

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify the root cause of an issue

  • Resourceful and cost-conscious approach to repairs without taking unsafe shortcuts

  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and follow projects through to completion

  • Organized, dependable, and willing to assist wherever your skills are useful

  • Willingness to continue learning and expand your technical capabilities

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive company vehicles required

  • Dry-cleaning or commercial-laundry experience is helpful but not required
