Frequently asked questions

Posting, approval, applying, and how to reach the board from software.

Posting a job

Does it cost anything to post a job?

No. Posting is free, and so is everything that comes with it — editing a listing, reposting a role, and seeing who applied.

Do I need an account to post?

Yes. Register your company and you can post from the dashboard once the account is approved.

Why is my company waiting for approval?

Every new employer account is reviewed by a person before its first posting goes live. A free job board with no gate fills up with spam listings and fake accounts, which is bad for the jobseekers using it and for the employers posting real work.

It is a one-time step, not a per-posting one. Once approved, your listings publish straight away. You can write and save postings while the account is pending — they simply will not appear on the public board until the review is done.

How long does a posting stay up?

30 days, then it expires and leaves the board. Roles get filled, and a board of stale listings wastes the time of everyone who applies to one. If the role is still open, repost or extend it.

Can I edit a posting after publishing it?

Yes, at any time, from the dashboard. Edits appear on the live posting immediately.

What should I put in the job title?

The role, and nothing else. Leave the city, your company name, the pay and the employment type out of the title — every one of those has its own field on the form, and the site publishes them separately to Google. A title of Warehouse Associate reaches more people than Warehouse Associate - Boise - Full Time - $18/hr, which search engines read as noise.

Finding work

Does it cost anything to apply?

No, and it never will. No jobseeker on this board pays anything at any point — not to us, and not to an employer for the chance to be considered. Any listing that asks you for money is one we want to hear about.

Do I need an account to apply?

Not always. Some postings accept an application without one. An account lets you keep a resume on file, apply in fewer steps, and continue a conversation with an employer, so it is worth the couple of minutes if you are applying to more than one role.

Can I post a resume instead of waiting for the right job?

Yes. Create a resume on your account and employers hiring for work you match can find you. Resume pages are not indexed by search engines.

A job I wanted has disappeared. What happened?

Either it was filled, or it reached the end of its 30-day run. Employers often repost roles they are still hiring for, so it is worth checking the employer's page for something similar, or searching the full board.

Are all the jobs in Idaho?

Most of them are today, but the board is open to employers anywhere in the United States. Idaho is simply where it started and where the company operating it is based.

Reaching the board from software

Is there an API?

Yes, and it is public. The open postings, employers and categories are all readable over a versioned JSON API with no account and no key. Connecting an AI assistant covers the endpoints.

Can I connect Claude or another AI assistant?

Yes. The board runs a public MCP server, so an assistant can search postings and read them on your behalf. It is free, needs no account and no API key, and the setup is one line.

Only public postings are visible to it. There is no candidate, resume or application data behind that interface, and nothing there submits an application.

About the site

Who runs Personnel.com?

Personnel Plus, Inc., an independent, locally owned staffing firm with offices in Boise, Burley, Nampa and Twin Falls. It posts its own openings here alongside every other employer. More about the board.

I have a question about working for Personnel Plus, not about this site.

Those are answered on the staffing company's own site: payroll, timekeeping, benefits, safety, workers' compensation and what to do if you are hurt on an assignment are all covered in its job seeker FAQ, and its staffing service terms in its employer FAQ. Those describe an employment relationship with that firm rather than the use of this board, which is why they live there.

My question is not here.
