Landfill Diversion Area Attendant - Boise

Our client is seeking a friendly, dependable, and environmentally minded individual to support a new “Too Good to Toss” partnership with Idaho Youth Ranch. This temporary employee will assist customers, sort household items, and organize donated items for future pickup. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys recycling, sustainability, working with the public, and hands-on work.

• Pay and schedule: $18.00-$20.00 P/H. Wednesday – Saturday, 12:00 pm or 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Some flexibility with the schedule and hours may be available; this assignment will go for at least 6 months

What you’ll do:

• Assist customers using the new diversion and recycling program

• Provide friendly customer service and answer basic questions

• Sort household items for the “Too Good to Toss” program

• Move totes, furniture, and other household items into designated storage areas

• Organize items for future pickup by Idaho Youth Ranch

• Help keep the diversion area clean, organized, and safe

• Handle lifting and moving of household items as needed

• Support the successful launch and operation of this new community partnership

What you’ll need:

• Friendly, helpful, and positive attitude

• Interest in recycling, sustainability, and waste diversion

• Comfortable working with customers and providing assistance

• Ability to lift and move totes, furniture, and other household items

• Dependable and willing to work a flexible afternoon schedule

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Previous forklift experience is helpful but not required

• Forklift or other equipment operation may be introduced later as the program develops

• No equipment operation is required initially
