Seasonal Ditch Burner – Irrigation & Canal

Personnel Plus Inc., is now hiring A ditch burner, or agricultural flamer, is a tool used to eliminate weeds, brush, and pests along irrigation ditches, canals, fence lines, and fields using intense propane-fueled heat. These are typically long-handled torches that produce very high temperatures to burn weeds and help maintain clear irrigation channels.

Pay: $14.00 per hour. Workers who complete the full season without calling in or quitting early will receive a $1.00 per hour bonus, bringing the total to $15.00 per hour.

Job Duties:

Burning weeds and debris along irrigation ditches and canals using a propane torch
Walking long distances along canal banks and field edges
Standing and walking for extended periods while operating equipment
Working outdoors in changing weather conditions
other duties may be assigned

Requirements:

Steel-toe boots required
Must be able to walk long distances and stand for long periods
Must be comfortable working with propane torch equipment
No allergies to smoke or vegetation
Reliable attendance required
