Position Summary

The Quality Technician is responsible for inspecting and testing materials and finished products to ensure compliance with company and customer quality standards. This role supports continuous improvement efforts and works closely with production teams.

Key Responsibilities
Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Perform laboratory and in-process inspections per the PLP Quality Manual.
Generate Quality Notifications in the PLP Intranet.
Conduct incoming material testing, including Density, Melt Index/HLMI, and Ash tests.
Perform in-process inspections for pipe extrusion (minimum 2 per shift).
Verify silo pack logs (NGD).
Verify pipe dimensions for final inspection samples.
Perform Quick Burst and Ring Tensile tests (as equipment allows).
Inspect finished products and properly mark acceptance status.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the lab and work areas.
Work with production staff to support continuous product improvement.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Strong math skills.
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety and quality.
Ability to operate a forklift (or willingness to be trained).
Good communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Experience
1–2 years of related experience.
Previous warehouse, manufacturing, or customer service experience.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods.
Ability to work in extreme temperatures, especially heat.
Full range of motion including bending, twisting, squatting, and climbing.
Ability to work weekends.
Reliable transportation and punctual attendance required.
Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
