Under general supervision, attended truck scales to determine volumes and weight of loads; maintained accounting records.
Part-time, 16-20hrs out of the week.
Knowledge of: Basic office practices and procedures; standard and accepted English usage, grammar, and spelling; basic applications of WORD, EXCEL, FILLING, and designated database software; basic business letter writing and reporting formats; and basic business arithmetic.
Ability to: Understand and follow both written and oral instructions independently: communicate orally and in writing in a clear, accurate, and positive manner; perform arithmetic calculations accurately; operate a personal computer and designated software such as WORD, EXCEL, and database in a precise and timely manner; operate standard office and specialized machines/equipment accurately; type/word process accurately and at a speed necessary to successful job performance; prioritize work and coordinate several activities simultaneously; establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the process of completing assigned duties.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Weighed trucks and prepared tickets for truck drivers to keep accurate records
Operate in-bound and out-bound scales
Direct truck drivers to the appropriate loading areas
Ensure all transaction data and customer information is entered accurately
Respond to all customer inquiries with superior customer service skills and a high sense of urgency
Communicated in person and by phone with customers and team members
Ensured all truck drivers were complying with the company's Health, Safety, and Environmental standards
Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook
Strong organization skills
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Strong ability to multi-task with exceptional attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug/alcohol screen, and background check
