Job Responsibilities:
Organizes, schedules, and conduct maintenance job tasks.
Insures timely completion of required maintenance work.
Orders repair parts, shop supplies.
Works with vendors to arrange for outside repair services.
Performs thorough PM’s in accordance with company procedures.
Performs fast, effective diagnosis and repair of bus breakdown.
Performs repairs to engines, transmissions, drivelines and differentials.
Possesses knowledge of and performs repairs to engine accessory components.
Possesses a complete knowledge and proficiency in diagnosing, repairing, and rebuilding of steering, suspension, air and hydraulic brake systems, engine tune-ups, axle, and electrical systems.
Possesses the ability to work without supervision and is a self-starter.
Possesses the ability to instruct maintenance lot personnel and assist them in completing repair assignments.
Completes all paperwork in accordance with company policies.
Performs other duties as directed.
Preferred Skills:
A minimum of 2 years experience as a bus mechanic or the equivalent in a related maintenance field or formal technical training facility.
Other Requirements:
Possess a State School bus driving certificate, or the ability to obtain one (if applicable).
Meet Federal requirements, re. PM Inspection/Brakes competencies
ASE qualified or be willing to become ASE qualified in, PM, Engine, and Brakes.
Possess all hand tools necessary for performing normal maintenance procedures.
