Personnel Plus, Inc. is now hiring Mosquito Control Specialists in Meridian, Idaho

Our client, the County Mosquito Abatement Division, is seeking a dependable Mosquito Abatement Technician to help protect public health by identifying and treating mosquito breeding sites. This is a full-time seasonal position working through October, with paid training and licensing provided.

Pay and schedule: Starting at $17.50/hour, with a pay increase upon licensing. Work four 10-hour days, Monday–Thursday or Tuesday–Friday, and enjoy three-day weekends! Employees dispatch from Meridian, Idaho.

What you’ll do:

• Identify and treat mosquito breeding sites and standing water

• Inspect drains, ponds, ditches, and containers for mosquito larvae

• Safely apply larvicides according to labels and regulations

• Document treatment locations, product usage, and results

• Operate sprayers, field equipment, mobile devices, and GPS

• Monitor treatment effectiveness and re-treat areas as needed

• Maintain equipment, vehicles, and work areas

• Communicate with the public about mosquito prevention

• Safely operate County vehicles

• Perform other related duties as assigned

What you’ll need:

• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record

• Must have held a valid driver’s license for at least two years

• Ability to obtain a pest-control license within 30 days of hire

• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions

• Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds

• Basic math skills and the ability to follow product labels and SDS instructions

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Comfortable using mobile devices and GPS

• Ability to pass a drug screening and background check
