Our client is seeking an experienced CDL Class A Transport Driver to deliver new and used trailers throughout the continental United States, primarily within the 11 Western states. This is a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity offering an excellent benefits package upon hire.
Pay and schedule: $0.45 per mile for over-the-road transportation and $19.90/hour for local transports. Schedules vary based on routes and delivery requirements.
What you’ll do:
Transport new, used, empty, and occasionally loaded trailers
Operate stacked, single, double, and triple trailer configurations
Pick up and deliver trailers to and from customer locations
Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections
Ensure trailers and loads are properly secured for transport
Follow DOT regulations, traffic laws, and company safety policies
Maintain accurate transportation and inspection records
Communicate professionally with customers, dispatchers, and coworkers
Promptly report equipment issues, maintenance needs, accidents, and safety concerns
Safely strap trailers and operate trailer landing gear as required
Perform other related duties as assigned
What you’ll need:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
Valid Class A CDL
Doubles and Triples Endorsement
Current DOT Medical Card
Minimum of four years of DOT driving experience
Acceptable driving record
Ability to operate various truck models and transmission types
Ability to work independently and complete assignments on time
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
Professional and courteous communication skills
Ability to read and follow safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance manuals, and company procedures
Ability to drive in varying weather and road conditions
Ability to frequently squat, kneel, bend, push, and pull
Ability to repeatedly enter and exit the tractor cab
Ability to safely lift and carry up to 75 pounds
Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
Ability to pass a DOT drug screening, background check, physical, and CDL driving test
Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
